FAQs
Below are answers to the questions we hear most often. If you can't find what you're looking for, write to us at help@ritaura.com — we're a small team and we read every message.
Sizing & Fit
How do I find my size at RITAURA?
Every product page links to our Size Guide with measurements in inches and centimetres for bust, waist, hips, and kurta length. We recommend measuring yourself with a soft tape and comparing to the chart — if you're between two sizes, size up for a relaxed fit or down for a more structured silhouette. If you're still unsure, email us your measurements and we'll suggest the best size.
What if my exact size isn't available?
Most pieces are stocked in standard sizes from XS to XXL. If a piece you love is unavailable in your size, write to help@ritaura.com — many designs can be made to order in your measurements with a 10–15 business day lead time.
What's included in an unstitched suit set?
An unstitched RITAURA suit set typically includes 2.5 metres of kurta fabric, 2.5 metres of bottom fabric, and a fully finished dupatta. The embroidery and weaving are already done — your tailor only stitches the silhouette. This lets you tailor the fit precisely to your measurements and choose between a straight, A-line, or anarkali cut.
Do you offer custom stitching or alterations?
We don't currently offer in-house stitching, but our unstitched sets are designed to be easily tailored anywhere in India. For made-to-order ready-to-wear pieces, we can stitch to your custom measurements — share them with us at checkout or by email and we'll confirm the timeline.
Made-to-Order
What does "Made-to-Order" mean?
Products marked Made-to-Order are crafted only after your order is placed. This means each piece is freshly woven, embroidered, and finished for you — nothing sits in storage. It's the most sustainable way to buy, and it lets us offer pieces in colours and sizes that wouldn't be commercially viable to stock in bulk.
How long does a made-to-order piece take?
Made-to-order pieces take 10–15 business days from order placement to reach you. This includes the time needed for weaving, embroidery, finishing, and dispatch. If you need a piece by a specific date, write to help@ritaura.com before placing your order and we'll do our best to accommodate.
Can I cancel or change a made-to-order piece after placing the order?
You can cancel or change a made-to-order piece within 24 hours of placing it, before we begin production. After that, the weaving and embroidery work is already in motion and the order is non-refundable.
Shipping
Do you offer free shipping?
Yes — we offer free shipping on all orders across India. There are no minimum order values or hidden charges. See our Shipping Policy for full details.
How long does delivery take within India?
In-stock pieces are dispatched within 1–3 working days of order placement and typically reach you within 5–7 working days from dispatch, depending on your location. Made-to-order pieces take 10–15 business days from order placement and ship as soon as they're ready.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we do ship internationally. International shipping charges and delivery timelines depend on your destination and are confirmed individually at checkout. Please write to help@ritaura.com with your order details and we'll arrange your shipment. Customs duties and import taxes are the buyer's responsibility.
How can I track my order?
Once your order is dispatched, you'll receive an email with the tracking number and courier link. You can also track your order anytime through our Order Tracking page. If you need help locating an order, write to us at help@ritaura.com.
Returns & Refunds
What is your return policy?
Ready-to-wear pieces can be returned within 7 days of delivery for a refund or exchange, provided they are unworn, unwashed, and in their original packaging with all tags attached. Made-to-order pieces are not eligible for return as they are crafted specifically for you. See our Return and Refund Policy for the full terms.
How do I initiate a return?
Email help@ritaura.com with your order number, the reason for return, and a few photographs if the piece is damaged or defective. We'll respond within 24 hours with the next steps. Approved returns are picked up from your address at no extra cost.
How long does a refund take?
Once the returned item reaches us and passes a quality check, refunds are processed within 5–7 working days to your original payment method. Bank credits typically take an additional 3–5 working days to reflect, depending on your bank.
Do you offer exchanges?
Yes — we can exchange ready-to-wear pieces for a different size or a different product of equivalent value, subject to availability. Reach out within 7 days of delivery to arrange an exchange.
Fabric Care
How do I care for a Chikankari suit?
Chikankari pieces are best dry cleaned to protect the delicate hand embroidery. If you must wash at home, use cold water, mild liquid detergent, and a gentle hand wash — never wring or scrub. Dry flat in shade, and iron on reverse with a thin cloth between the iron and the fabric. Read more in our Chikankari buyer's guide.
Can I wash my Banarasi suit at home?
We strongly recommend dry cleaning for all Banarasi pieces. The zari work is delicate and can dull or catch in a machine wash. If you absolutely must spot-clean at home, use cold water, dab gently (never rub), and avoid water on the zari areas. Our Banarasi care guide has the full step-by-step.
How do I care for mul mul, pure cotton, and linen pieces?
These fabrics are everyday-friendly. Gentle machine wash on cold or hand wash with mild detergent, dry in shade (direct sunlight fades natural dyes faster than expected), and iron while slightly damp. Linen wrinkles beautifully by design — light steaming is usually enough.
Will the colour bleed in the first wash?
Naturally dyed and traditionally crafted fabrics can release a small amount of colour in the first one or two washes — this is normal and reduces with each subsequent wash. Always wash dark and bright colours separately from light fabrics for the first three washes. We test all our fabrics for colour fastness before dispatch.
How do I store my Banarasi or Chikankari long-term?
Wrap in muslin or unbleached cotton (never plastic), store flat or gently folded, add a few clove or neem leaf sachets to keep moths away, and refold along different lines every 3–4 months so the same creases don't set into the zari work. Avoid hanging heavy Banarasi pieces — gravity pulls on the embroidery.
Authenticity & Craft
Are your Chikankari pieces genuinely hand-embroidered?
Yes. Every Chikankari piece in our edit is hand-embroidered by karigars in Lucknow using traditional stitches — tepchi, bakhia, phanda, murri, and jaali. A single suit set can pass through 5–8 different artisans, each specialising in a specific stitch. You can read about how to tell hand-embroidery from machine work in our Chikankari buyer's guide.
Where are your Banarasi fabrics sourced from?
Our Banarasi pieces are woven in Varanasi (Banaras) and nearby weaving clusters using traditional pit looms. Each weave — mal chanderi, resham chanderi, zari georgette, resham silk — follows techniques that have been passed down through generations of weavers in the region.
Where are your products made?
Every RITAURA piece is crafted in India by skilled artisans — Chikankari in Lucknow, Banarasi in Varanasi, cotton suit sets in Jaipur and Delhi NCR. We work directly with weavers and artisans wherever possible.
Payment
What payment options do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards, UPI, net banking, and most popular digital wallets through our secure checkout. See our Payment Options page for the full list.
Do you offer cash on delivery (COD)?
COD availability depends on your pincode and the order value. If COD is available at your delivery address, you'll see it as an option at checkout.
Are there any hidden charges?
No — the price you see at checkout is the final price for orders within India, including all taxes. Shipping is free pan-India. For international orders, the buyer is responsible for any customs duties and import taxes levied by the destination country.
